David (played by Peter Facinelli) loses his wife at a young age, and later meets a woman named Lauren (played by Sophia Myles). They fall in love, and Lauren helps David rediscover hope and purpose in life. David has a daughter named Jill (played by Nathalia Ramos) from his previous marriage, who is currently living alone in Colombia and going through a rebellious phase. One day, David and Lauren embark on a journey to Colombia to visit their daughter, but they encounter a car accident along the way. In the midst of a torrential rainstorm, they find shelter in a dilapidated motel, where they accidentally hear the cries for help from a young girl coming from the motel's basement. Driven by a sense of justice and morality, David decides to rescue the poor girl, unaware that his actions will plunge everyone present into an irrevocable abyss.
